ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM DRAWING

Introduction
For this project, we have to draw the ROM from a chosen point of view. The purpose of it is to understand in depth the perspectives in drawing.
MATERIALS
Materials needed for the project are:
- Ruler
- Hard pencil
- Eraser
- Colored pencils
I also used bond paper to do rough sketches and Canson paper for the final work
PROCESS
We started everything off by visiting the ROM and chose the scene that we want to retransfer to our assigment. There are several scenes from different viewpoints and provide different perspectives. I had a choice of two and ended up choosing this one. Eventhough I already sketched the component I had chose, I still took a picture to use as the reference later.
Here are the pictures.
This is my chosen one
The sketch I did during our visit.
I scaled it out then enlarged it on a bond paper, which is our required materials. In order to do it, I devided my sketch into 32 equal parts by dragging accross the paper. Then I did the same thing on the bigger one and retransfered what I had got on my sketch to the Canson paper.
After that, I experienced the colored pencils on my sketch to get some ideas of organizing the colors.
I was pretty happy with the ton, so I did the same thing on the Canson paper that already had the drawing.
kept going...
Final work :) mounted on a illustration board.
CONCLUSION
I am happy with the final work and actually enjoyed the who process. It was a great opportunity to experiment colored pencils on Canson paper, which I have never done before. I also learned a lot about perspective, which used to be very difficult before I actually did this assigment.
