Long Span Structure: L.A. Memorial Coliseum
Thestudio project explored structural and material systems and the capacity to usetransformative systems to upgrade the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.  A design requirement was to add a roof to theexisting structure while leave the façade untouched. The transformation processconsidered the surrounding area, public access, historical preservation, orientation and expanded uses for the site to increase stadium events and dailyuse of Exposition Park.  Site analysis resultedin 3 zones - USC, tailgating and community – that had specific programmaticsystems related to the purpose of each zone.
