THESIS: Silicon Valley

Physical model highlighting the San Francisco Bay Area and the three major tech companies: Facebook, Apple and Google.
10-minute radius walk radiates from Apple's existing Infinity Loop headquarters. 5-minute radius walk is shown on their new building under construction (2016).
Menlo Park, California. Top business park surrounded by parking lot is Facebook's headquarters. 5-minute radius walk is Facebook's newest building designed by Frank Gehry. The dashed in area is an existing business park that has been purchased by Facebook for their future expansion. That is the site boundary for my thesis proposal.
This is a PROPOSED rail line that comes off of Caltrain. Menlo Park Station is located right where Facebook headquarters is and my proposed project site.
Project goals.
Physical model with my proposed design on site.
Master Plan of project site showing potential building uses. Though it is on land that Facebook has purchased, I am proposing a mixed-use development not just for Facebook employees but to the greater community.
Rendered Master Plan of 'Bayside'. Features: a central park with a pedestrian diagonal walkway connecting a proposed transit center along railway going towards a proposed fitness center. The 'Lofts' on the upper right of master plan is the building in which I detailed further in design.
An example of a complete street that would be in my master plan.
Interior Render: One-bedroom apartment Loft.
South Elevation of proposed building: the Lofts.
Exterior Render: along the diagonal pedestrian way, in 'the Grove'.
Exterior Night Render: the Lofts.
sketches of proposed sun shading device on building 'the Lofts'. Flexible shutter shade panels on track systems.
