Lekhwiya Sports Stadium and Complex.
The complex is the home ground of Qatar’s premier domestic football team Lakhwiya and was finished to the highest standards. The 385,000 square metre sports complex apart from the 10,000-capacity football stadium, four training fields with their own changing room facilities and a mosque is to include a 75-key five-star hotel a fitness centre and a multipurpose hall.
While this stadium will not be used to host any of the World Cup games in 2022, the facility will be used as a training ground and hospitality centre for the international teams.
Resourcefully managed B+H technical team in the architectural detailing of the project and supplied technical reviews to ensure detailing at international standards. As technical department, we provided technical office support services to the main contractor with design review and revisions for the Lakhwiya Sports Stadium and Complex. A 385,000 square metre sports complex consists of a 10,000-capacity football stadium, four training fields, a mosque, a 75-key five-star hotel, a fitness centre and a multipurpose hall.
Achievements
• Positively handled the redesigning of the Masterplan landscape (soft/hard scape); Softscape included plants and trees found in the region and others that can sustain local weather conditions.
• Administered Hardscape apart from the necessary pedestrian footpaths and pavements included colour stamped concrete, a looping outdoor 2 lane running track (500m), shaded areas.
• Analysed traffic layout counting speed humps, speed bumps and car park shades; created 3D Renderings for feasibility studies furthermore collaborated with construction departments: MEP, Civil departments.
