Volunteer Action Center

The Volunteer Action Center seeks to engage & inspire students through volunteer experiences for the enhancement of their overall educational learning.

Concept
As an active, ever-growing student-led organization at the University of Arkansas, a new mark was needed to represent the group, as well as bring organization to all their programs.

Details
Over the course of two months during my 2015 summer internship at DOXA, I established a new identity through a series of client meetings and creative collaboration. Our initial client meeting included discussing brand mission, values, goals, and personality to better understand the organization.
I started the design process with a word map and 6+ pages of thumbnail idea sketches.
Within a couple weeks, I presented several design options each with a parent mark and corresponding marks for each program.
The chosen mark represents inward / outward action, as volunteers and those being served are equally impacted. Each respective sub-group is distinguished by use of color, while effectively unifying all programs of the Volunteer Action Center.
Thank you.
