As Good as It Gets

This poster was developed using the movie “As Good As It Gets” (1997) as an inspiration. The concept behind the poster was created after an extensive analysis of the movie color palette, music, sound, lightning, edition, internal and external spaces and styling.
The concept I developed, mixes the personalities of the two main characters: Melvin and Carol. These characters oppose to each other constantly because of their personalities but when they fall in love they turn into a complement and balance for each other. The poster reflects the crazes that Melvin has because of his OCD condition vs. Carol disorder and chaos as a single mother. Each universe that represent Melvin and Carol blend into one another just like ying yang.

La película asignada fue As Good as It Gets (1997) y para desarrollar el proyecto fue necesario llevar a cabo un análisis formal en cuanto a paleta de color, música, vestuario, espacios interiores y exteriores, sonido, iluminación y edición. Partiendo de este análisis fue posible desarrollar un concepto que relacionaba a los dos personajes principales de la película: Melvin y Carol. Estos personajes se caracterizan por oponerse constantemente hasta que se convierten en un equilibrio y complemento. El afiche refleja las manías características de Melvin y cómo, al involucrarse Carol en su universo, se modifican.
