Paris-born architect, engraver and decorator Daniël Marot (1661-1752) created this opulent gilded table in 1709. He settled in Holland in 1698 after spending fruitful periods in France, Holland and England. The Great Hall of the States-General in the Hague is one of his distinguished achievements.
