Hilton London Olympic Games hospitality

Hilton Sponsorship materials
As an official sponsor of the Olympic Games, Hilton develops promotions for consumers and stages elaborate hospitality events for high-ranking property owners. Surrounding their sponsorship of the London Olympic Games, I designed, art directed, or produced hundreds of individual pieces — some exactly matching their branding and others delving into new visual territory. These ranged from the intricate laser‑cut invitation sent to property owners and investors to room keycard buckslips.
Invitation
This showstopping laser-cut invitation was the first piece mailed to Hilton property owners and investors to invite them to attend a VIP tour of the London Olympic Games. I concepted, researched, engineered, digitally comped, hand-prototyped and meticulously refined vector paths to deliver production-ready files to a local laser cutting shop.

A seven-panel scored reverse accordion fold self-contained the three staggered text & skyline panels. Each panel's ink opacity was reduced to create an atmospheric landscape based on the London skyline. No glue nor any binding materials were used to hold this together.
400 pieces were offset-printed in 4-color-process plus spot metallic gold on Curious Particles silver 80lb cover. I worked directly with the printer to design in a way that I was maximizing the sheet — at a whopping 32" long, it filled the entire length of the press sheet.  To be resourceful with such a short run, other event materials were printed in the remaining space.
Since there were multiple waves of guests with unique dates and registration date, variable data had to be provided along with the invitation. I merged, printed and trimmed individual cards with a mock blue "sky" that would sit behind the last layer.
The outside flap was sealed with a self-adhesive wax seal and enclosed in a matching custom square envelope addressed in golden hand calligraphy, then shipped in a FedEx envelope.

On-property materials

To build excitement among hotel employees and guests of  the Waldorf Astoria in London (the  hospitality event location), The Marketing Arm produced newsletters, cards, emails, posters, flyers, room keycard folders, buckslips, signage and banners.
This 18x24 modular employee announcement board, mounted to the bulletin board in the employee breakroom, featured areas for rotating mini-posters that could be printed in the hotel business center, and a pocket poster that could contain various take-one announcement cards.
Name badges
I art directed most other pieces that were produced within the event branding, including the nametags for all attendees and special dinner guests and speakers. Gabby Douglas, Olympian medalist, donated her VIP badge to the Smithsonian Museum.
