Drawing without using outlines is like steering a boat without a rudder.
 
 
I love drawing without using outlines, it's my favorite style of comic like art. Unfortunately it's extremely time consuming, you have to use shadows and slight color variations to create contrast between joints and body parts that might be close to each other; like if the characters head is resting on his hand, you have to position the hand and head in such a way that the head casts a shadow over the hand, allowing you to make the hand a darker hue... This and many other pitfalls is the reason I mostly opt out on no outlines, at east when doing a job for someone.
 
But occasionally when I find a passion project that would fit within the style, I got nuts, like here:
