Plaza Bolivar de Maracay and monuments civil-military part of that were built between 1929 and 1930, as part of the public works plan decreed to mark the first anniversary of the death of Libertador, during the regime of Juan Vicente Gómez. Its design and creation was the need to offer the city Maracay an urban nationalist reform. Until that date, the central town was represented by the Girardot square and surrounding buildings. Bolivar Square is surrounded by five buildings that they constituted, at the time of its construction, the whole "Garden City" and so stated in documents that account of construction:

1. The Hotel Garden, subsequent Government Palace in Maracay

2. The Cavalry Barracks Páez

3. The Military Hospital of Maracay, known as Clinical Maracay, and Now houses the Urban Ambulatory Dr. Ephraim Abad Armas

5. Sports Club, then Club Bolívar, now disappeared.

Construction of the Plaza Bolivar in Maracay and the Garden City They were mandated by the National Executive to Address Buildings and Works Ornato the then Ministry of Public Works; so some of the architectural projects were realized by Carlos Raul Villanueva, who worked at that time in the MOP, such as the square itself and the Hotel Garden. Plaza Bolivar Maracay is described in the Proceedings of MOP 1931 as a modern square 320 meters long and 106 wide, divided into three sections by two intermediate streets 17 meters wide. SCOPE OF WORK:

The planimetric survey of the Plaza Bolivar in Maracay, aims to make a contribution to this difficult process of rescuing the cultural heritage of the state and the nation, with special emphasis on the need to recognize and awaken the sense of belonging of its population, which thus produces a lift which will be described later. The overall objective is to provide the first tools for the understanding and interpretation of this urban space, which will allow the development of an intervention to rescue this urban space so important to the nation and meet the general clamor of the communities concerned about their rescue equity securities. This will improve the urban quality of the area where it is located, improving everything about lighting and street furniture.
