The brief was to design a multi-sensory garden in a provided exterior space at Dar tal-Providenza. My Design focused on combining two elements that can be considered as infinite - Water and Music. I wanted a design that exploits the infinity of Water and the creativity of Music to enhance the experience. Also the main focus for these disabled people was to provide them with an experience that falls under the term mostly known as 'Cause and Effect'. I wanted to amplify this through my design.
The below sketches all wanted to portray the Maltese local feel - Intimate, comfortable and welcoming.
After much discussion with tutors, I have come up with a tensile structure that envelopes the user at three nodes. These nodes are related to 3 music stations, each station giving a different sound. The sound it outputted with the means of waterproof pressure tiles integrated with the floor tiling. To add to the effect, they also output a colour when stepped on.
