An architectural plan is two-dimensional diagram of building. But with the same plan, you can create an entirely different design. This was my second design exercise in my first year.

I started with a plan of the Swiss 'sound box' pavilion designed by Peter Zumthor for the 2000 expo in Hannover. We, however, were not told where the plan came from until our design was finished.

The building is situated next to the High Line, so I wanted it to be a landmark for New York. I extruded a small part of the plan into three towers where all functions of the building are concentrated. This includes mainly the vertical circulation. Besides that, you can find part of the plan when you look at it from the High Line. Just like the High Line, it's possible to walk under the building.

I think it would make a great office building. I wanted people at work to enjoy their breaks, so I installed a roof garden.
