Tasked with refreshing Smithsonian.com while constrained by the current content at it’s established proportions, I simplified pages by updating the color palette, typography, and all aspects of navigation. Since the redesign’s launch in May 2011, the site’s number of monthly unique visitors has increased by about 40%. The new template has since beenapplied to AirSpacemag.com with it’s own refreshed color palette.
