USING CURIOSITY, INTENSITY AND FREEDOM TO REAWAKEN THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING.
After creating a personal brief, the aim was to revisit the site and explore the different design proposals in terms of layout of the space whilst still being respectful towards the building and its surroundings.
a recap of building two (a full research study was undertaken in a previous portfolio)
As attracting public to the building was a challenge that the current owners faced, I decided to tackle this problem by designing elements which will be placed in and around the site that will cause curiosity and spark an interest among passers by.
Visuals of the exterior design elements.
An outdoor seating design to attract the public and also a place for companies to relax or have meetings.
Some of the design elements that will be placed around the building. These elements allow the users to have freedom within the space that they are working in. They also create a dynamic working environment as it is constantly changing and the companies have to work together in some cases, this will create a community within the building.

First Floor - Private Studio Design
This is the process I took to design the studio spaces that can be seen on the first floor of the building. These studio's can be transformed and manipulated on the inside as much as the companies like, this space will be private. The studio's are also sunk into the first floor so those in the workshop aea's on the ground floor can get a peak into the studio's to see if their collegue is in. The sunken element also allows in more light from a different angle than the one's that we are used to.
Ground floor
Where the public and private come together but only to be able to see eachother. The ground floor is where the printing workhops are based as well as a shop and waiting area's for the public. On this floor, the users of the building will be able to see eachother but are seperated by a glass wall with openenings that incourage curiosity. There are many design elements on this floor which can be seen through the visuals.
First floor
A floor which is dedicated to the companies - this floor includes a library, private studio spaces and a kitchen. The library and studio spaces as well as the extra work spaces can all be manipulated and transformed to suit the use of the area at that time.
Second floor
The floor in which the public and private can meet. This open plan space allows more freedom to the comapanies and the clients. Meeting rooms that spark curiosity beside chill out zones that can be used at any time of the day.
