MOBILE REVOLUTION

Our aim in this project was to challenge the museum and its methods of curation. We focused on 'The Information Age', an exhibition which features a great deal of modern and relatively affordable technology, specifically mobile phones. We proposed that the phones be removed from their cases, allowing visitors to interact with them, creating nostalgia but also showing how fast mobile technology has progressed in a short time. We also looked into the content of the phones, the personal histories in text conversations and photographs but also more important public events, such as the London riots, filmed on specific models of phones and how this might be archived by the museum.
