Karen Fletcher's profile

ADSA 318 Guerrilla Art

Guerrilla Art at the St. Charles Riverfront.

The Missouri River is the longest river in North America. It has been developed for irrigation, flood control and the generation of power over the last 200 years. Both agriculture and industry development has taken a toll on wildlife and fish populations as well as the quality of the water (Wikipedia.org, 2015).

Fletcher’s guerrilla art highlights man-made pollution near the mouth of the Missouri River in juxtaposition to clear and clean water and fruit. The wreckage seems to be a permanent addition to the Missouri River. The pitcher of water and fruit is only temporary. The guerilla art illustrates current pollution and water quality to initiate a discussion – What can be done?
