Project for the prize of « Concours Jean-Prouvé »

INTENTION
The aim of this contest is to create a design of an elementary class room.
With the criteria of it being efficient, comfortable, and convey a metaphore of “transfer of knowledge”.
We worked in a team of four on this project. My main responsibility was the 3D création.

Our first idea was to create class room design with geometric shaped furniture, such as hexagon and round shaped tables. Which the kids can play with by easily being able to move and rearrange the furniture.

Secondly we created specific zones in which only certain objects
can be placed for example the worshop and display objects.

Thirdly in order to make the blackboard area of the class more welcoming to the pupils we set up the teachers desk to be in the back corner of the class room, therfore detaching the teachers teritory from the blackboard area.

Furthermore we decided to use colours that are bright and soft, creating comfortable and alert state of mind. These were furniture in green and blue creating atmosphere of comfort and energy for the pupils.
The floor in classic hardwood and the walls all in white, providing a more neutral and traditionnal look.

MATERIAL
The materials that we decided to use for this furniture
was mainly plastic due to its light weight and shinny surface.
