Back to the Drawing Boards

The opening exhibition, Back to the Drawing Boards, for the Vulcan Hall Student Gallery was created to showcase the artwork and talent of the Art & Design Department of California University of Pennsylvania.  I began this gallery in the spring of 2014. With overwhelming success, we have continued the exhibition for each semester.  This is a show created with the purpose of being semesterly.  In Spring 2015, I will hold my 3rd Back to the Drawing Boards.
Included in the exhibition is every media offered at Calu.  The first show was able to showcase about 25 current students and one professor, featuring EVERY media taught in the department. The second show included about 30 students and even though still in planning, the 3rd show already has 30 artists signed up. This time the show will include Alumni and curent students as well as outside the university performing arts.
Vulcan Hall, the main hub for the Art and Design Department, contains three floors.  A new added featured, that I am thrilled to include in the show is the usage of the WHOLE building instead of just the gallery space.  With the expansion in the amount of space I have been able to live music featuring local artists as well as poets.
Being that this is one of the largest gallery shows held at Calu, I am beyond proud of the artists and talent featured in these shows.
