An animation commissioned by the Aviva Community Fund to celebrate their Facebook page reaching 100,000 Likes. The video was created from photos and videos provided by Aviva Canada, and was based off of a concept provided by them. The requirements were to have a facebook timeline scroll, and stop at specific moments in the timeline to show posts from that day/month/year. The video was commissioned and finished within about a week, therefore time constraints were an issue in polishing the product.

 

The decision to use actual Facebook timelines in the video from the ACF Facebook page was something that was provided from the marketing team at Aviva. I screencaptured the timeline and stitched the images together in After Effects. In retrospect, this was probably not the best approach, as the viewer can't really see any posts except the highlighted one. I should have simplified the timeline scroll and the highlight posts and made them a derivative of their literal form on Facebook. Another lesson is the font size of the text highlights on the Facebook posts. These should have been enlarged to make it much clearer.

 

All in all, it was a successful video. After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Audition were used to create it.
