The Restaurant at the Villas Lirio Hotel in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica needed a new name and identiy, something to reflect the elegance, eclectic menu, decor and ambiance.
I created this logo with an eye to extending the art deco-esqe motif and colors which I had established for the Villas Lirio logo, and also to harmonize with the building's architecture and colors.
The sign was printed at 244 cm x 144 cm onto galvanized sheet metal laminate and I mounted it to the wall above the existing Villas Lirio sign on the Hotel's front wall. Not my first choice of location, but the wall above the gate turned out to be a completely hollow fiberglass box and there was no easy way to accomplish mounting the sign where I had intended... :-(
The Menu here is the recyclable breakfast menu, printed on PVC and is left at the table for customers to write on with dry-erase markers, saving LOTS of paper and printing expenses for the owner :-) I also made a 6 page dinner menu, not shown.
