As a keen and passionate runner, I decided to research about races both nationally and internationally. My research lead me to conclude that although marathons have a similar following to that of cycling, it lacks design in both fan-art and an overall design charm. This is an ongoing project of marathon fan-art with a future printed booklet in the pipeline.

Swiss Alpine Marathon poster - the design utalises both the swiss flag and the overall swiss design ethic in style. The typography is placed diagonally to form a mountain peak which both directly relates to the race event and also it's natural backdrop.
Swiss Alpine poster II - This second poster for the Swiss Alpine Marathon explores a more experimental approach in the use of perspective with the placement of the type. This creates a dynamic feeling and one that relates to the scenary of
the Marathon.

Logo.
Above are preliminary sketches for the logo, the swiss alps and synonomous de stijl inspired typographic lettering form the foundation of the logo.
The inspiration for this logo came from researching both two sources, one being the backdrop of the marathon and the second being the typography Switzerland uses for it's road signs (SNV and Astra Frutiger).
