Easy ATV Maintenance for the Upcoming Ride Season

Water. Mud. Dust. Together they make the soup that you feed your ATV -- guzzled up without a post-riding burp. Fully sealed engines, maintenance-free suspension bushing and tough-as-nail and electronics drive system see to that.
However, a diet of potentially destructive ingredients needs a few key all terrain vehicles maintenance measures in order to keep your own ATV in best shape and prepared for more feast of terra firma. As per the experts, a few easy maintenance tips can keep ATV in best form, whether it's classic model or new model.

Different riders and conditions make a one-size-fit-all maintenance program unfeasible. However, you'll do a big favor to your ATV (and wallet) by following these 5 general maintenance processes at a frequency which makes sense for conditions and durations you ride.

Right Tire Pressure:
The air pressure is an important factor in how an ATV rides. Little pressure produces unpredictable handling and heavy steering. Too much of it means a rough ride along with accelerated tire wear. A 1-psi only can make a major difference. Solution: Check out all the four tires before your upcoming ride always.

Air Filter:
It’s very easy and quick to pull air filter, wash/ rinse it with a filter cleaner, blow dry, treat using filter oil and then reinstall it. You should do this once every month and after each dusty ride and always before your upcoming ride. Tip: For additional engine protection in dirty conditions, use an authentic brand's prefilter.

Filter and Oil:
Changing the filter and oil on your all terrain vehicles once a year (or more in case you're riding in the heat) can keep your quad bikes engine healthy and fresh. For the most excellent results, use the especially formulated synthetic oil.

Condensation Checks:
Will you be riding in water and mud? Water condenses if a hot front disparity (on a off road vehicle) and rear gear cases contact with mud cold or water, contaminating the oil. Rinse clear, clean plastic zip-ties into inspection plughole, and check the oil. In case it's milky, then drain and refill.

Boot and Bellow Check:
Examine the CV rubber boots on every wheel and rubber vent bellows present on front differential (in 4x4 model) and rear gear cases. If they're torn, then replace them before your upcoming ride or risk a costly repair bill.

The technicians also suggest using a higher pressure washer such as those present at self-services car wash to spray the layers of dirt from quad bikes/ATV, ensuring to clean off all the debris and dirt from the radiators (on liquid-cooled model) and the engines/engine head (air/oil-cooled model). Spray both the sides of two front brake disc and single rear discs. After spraying every side of every disc, roll your all terrain vehicles forward to picture the portion that is shielded by brake pads and then spray again. However, for all terrain vehicles from Polaris India, you don't have to perform each and every thing mentioned above, since they take care of these types of problems.

So, with some preventative maintenance and easy maintenance, you'll be set for your next ride in no time at all.
