the Polygon
The Polygon project was developed as a competition proposal for the Saint Gobain Architecture Student Contest. The organizers of the competition offered a site in the Viikli district of Helsinki, Finland.
The concept of the polygon project is to create a comfortable living environment for students and teachers, including a variety of public functions. The designed housing provides the best view from all viewpoints of the neighborhood unit.
Ecological materials and design solutions such as natural ventilation, protection against overheating and cooling are used. The residential environment is landscaped with maximum preservation of the existing landscape.
