NCT Dream Beatbox Lyric Booklet
This project redesigns the K-Pop group, NCT Dream's, lyric booklet inclusion from their 2022 Beatbox digipack album. The original booklet is member specific– 7 versions for each member. In this project, I incorporated all 7 members into one booklet and modified the design. I wanted to translate the album's young, carefree sound through the design using bright, bold colored geometric shapes to compliment each member's fun styling.
Original Design
These are 2/7 examples of the original design for the digipack album. The illustrative doodles done by the member corresponding to the version is the main design element used for the albums. In my redesign, I wanted to find a way to keep the personal touch of the member's doodles while adding more graphic elements to elevate the design. Playing off the doodle theme, I added a ripped paper effect in the design to imitate a scrapbook and journal effect. Wanting to keep each members' spread unique to them while keeping the project cohesive, I made the spreads consistently inconsistent with each other. Each member is appointed a primary and secondary color to compliment their style and paired with another member whose primary and secondary spread color is swapped. Each member also gets a unique song title design that represents their assigned song.
