These are entries for Christmas art challenge "Festive Fun With Faces" announced by illustrator Charly Clements on Instagram (@charlyclements). 🥰 There were prompts given every day, and the task was to make portraits based on those prompts.

I also added a creative rule for myself here - I decided I'd go time-travel and make a collection of retro girls, each with their own character and mood...
Day 1 prompts:

•pattern,
•messy bun,
•coat.

Here she is, lovely dark-haired girl in her hygge outfit. 🥰
(Is it only me, or does she look like a mix of Christian Bale and Jennifer Ehle? 😁)

I went for 70s-80s. In my Instagram version you can see an intricate snowflake pattern in the background, which I later changed for a simpler one.
Day 2 prompts:

•red lipstick,
•gift,
•wavy hair.

Now I travelled to 80s with their big cozy hand-knit sweaters... Again, I think I just couldn't get rid of retro movies' vibes here, so designing this character's face and hairdo I was thinking about "Dirty Dancing" or something like that.
Day 3 prompts:

•star,
•jewellery,
•freckles.

Here I depicted the y2k vibes. Oh, these early 2000s, with their shine, pink, rise of Internet and endless style experiments! 😁 This girl is ready to party and has prepared her brand new digital camera for unforgettable photos.
Day 4 prompts:

•candy cane,
•rosy cheeks,
•red hair.

Big hi to all "Star Wars" fans! ✨ This retro-themed entry shows a girl who cosplays princess Leia - the character made her first appearance in the franchise in 1977. And the famous cinnamon bun hairdo (even though another hairdo goes with this particular outfit) just had to be made with candy canes instead of hairpins of any kind.😁 All because Christmas was right around the corner.🌲🍬
That's all I wanted to share with you today. This project was such a fun to work on!
Please let me know your opinion, it means a lot to me.
Thanks for watching! ^_^
