St. Paul Winter Carnival

St. Paul Winter Carnival
The St. Paul Winter Carnival is one of the things Minnesotans have developed to keep themselves occupied every long, dark winter. The Carnival's design is outdated and tired, however, bringing no sense of celebration to this event which so many Minnesotans look forward to.

Their website was also drawn-out and cluttered.
My goal with this project was to give the Carnival a cool, modern and celebratory look- something you'd get excited about when you saw those street banners finally being posted along St. Paul's cobblestone streets. I wanted them to be as simple as possible, with not much more than the dates (since they are RARELY posted!) and a simple vector castle- something that would take 3 seconds to glance at and understand it was around the corner. The website was re-organized and given a face lift, allowing for easier navigation and a more pleasant visit to the site.
The entry/loading page- 5-8 second time lapse video of the Ice Castle being built. Leads to the Home page.
This can be bypassed for users who don't want to watch the video.
