This waterbody is neither a lake nor a river. It is a wetland near my home. It is usually flooded with water in the rainy season. The buildings that you see in the background are actually either nursing homes or hospitals that dump their wastes in the water. The water here is contaminated and the banks here are usually flooded with trash and garbage.

Since this water is not just for dumping wastes. It also provides a livelihood to hundreds of people whose primary source of income comes from either fishing or washing clothes.

The silhouette you see on the boat is a 14-year kid who makes a living by fishing in this water. People here often risked their lives just to earn something to make it through the night.
