History of COLORS

COLORS Magazine - Magazine

A contextual magazine about COLORS magazine, based in Italy, created in 1991, part of the Fabrica and Benetton groups.

I created this magazine as part of a context of practice module brief. I looked into the magazine and all of its history, and I then created this magazine, which I felt was the most appropriate format, that explores the context of Colors Magazine.

I packaged my magazine in brown news print, which I screen printed onto, front and back, when you open the packaging it reveal a map of the world inside, mixed with the name of the magazine, which represents the fact the magazine covers stories and people across the world.

The magazine itself has the name repeated on the front cover in different 'colours' which is a play on words and again represents the idea of diversity. Inside are photographs from the magazine, and other similar ideas, there are images of the covers, and images that I have illustrated myself,

The publication itself has been digitally printed onto a rough stock, that has a textured earthy feel similar to the stock the actual magazine is printed on. And it has a saddle stitch bind, with white string.
