hMARA - Immersive VR space

hMara - vr space on a platform of VRChat
The aim of my bachelor's work was to create a safe space in VR for multi-person interactions. I chose the name "Hamara" because it is my family name and I wanted to create an interior where my family, scattered all over the world, could meet and talk, at least feeling that we are all together and not just looking at each other through a computer screen .
First, I started by collecting inspiration - my first choice was furniture from the 1980s. However, after reviewing all the ideas, I decided to divide the work into three rooms - the cave part, which creates a sense of security thanks to rounded ceilings and cozy carpets; a living room with a shelf for vinyl records and plenty of space to sit and dance; and a part of the metro that symbolizes movement and faith in a bright future.

Secondly, I used Blender to model all parts of the space, although I had to keep everything low poly because the platform I chose to use as a base for my work - VRChat - has limits on the amount of data that can be transferred.

Third, I used Adobe Substance programs to create hand-drawn textures for my models that would reflect my art style. I also added my images to my design, using them as vinyl covers and a wall mural.

Finally, I put everything together in Unity, using the VRChat SDK to upload my work for everyone to see and use in their own way. I also asked my dear friend and DJ Sean Esch to let me use his remix of Last Christmas as the soundtrack to my world.
Here is a link to a world, feel free to explore yourself :)
