Calligraphy project "Ashes of art"

In the beginning of 2022 my whole world collapsed. The way I lived before became inadequate.

We search, we try, we build our world, we protect it, and still it turns out to be so fragile. So insignificant. All our efforts, attempts, desires, moments of happiness and despair eventually turn into ashes. Ashes are all that remains after us.

Both in art and in life we search, sometimes win, sometimes lose. There are flashes of pleasure and happiness, but mostly it is more about suffering from what has not yet been found or has already been lost, from what could be yours or from understanding what could never be yours. And then the end. What remains? What is transmitted to the future? What kind of trail are we leaving? What trace will my art leave? What is my life within the world?

This video art represents all these questions. The way I live and the way I create my art.
This is my first huge statement as an artist. It is inspired by Bill Viola video art, Marina Abramović performances and Yves Klein paintings.

Many thanks to Aleksandr Bityutskikh, who supported my idea from the very start and made this video.

Many thanks to my husband who believes in me and my art and is always there to help.
