Building Technology Studio - Student Housing project
(2nd year Politecnico di Milano project)

Located next to Porto di Mare metro station, our project consists of four buildings: two residential blocks, one canteen/minimarket, and one library. Two identical five-storey residential buildings with differing ground floors are located parallel to each other facing north-south axis, hence the light allowance is maximized. In addition, the project is connected with pathways to the Gino Cassinis Park located on the north and north- east of the site. By creating pathways, the project connects the north and the south of the site.
The ground floor has a free plan and is elevated. The ground floor consists of two blocks. The first block in- cludes the reception, technical rooms, laundry room and an entryway. The second block of the first building serves as an office space, and the second block of the second building serves as a cafe. In both buildings the second block contains an emergency staircase and an elevator.
The second, third, and fourth floors consist of a total of 50 single rooms per a single residential block.
The roof floor consists of study rooms, gym, and a garden terrace where students can study, work out, or spend quality time. The roof is constructed with arches and barrel vaults and the center of the roof is made of glass and provides skylight to the entire building.
