Netflix - Sintonia

When you get lost, the favela finds you.
Check out the campaign of the 4th season of their engaging, impactful Brazilian series Sintonia.

Their number one most-watched series from Brazil has taken on a unique guise. Invited by Boys Do Cry and Netflix, we produced a poster and exclusive images for the promotion, with the mission of praising this new season and making the essence of the series overflow. The plot tells the story of three friends who live in a fictional favela in São Paulo, and is inspired by an original idea from Kondzilla. He’s the creative director, producer and entrepreneur, one of the most responsible for the success of Brazilian funk worldwide. Pure Brazilian roots.

For this production we photographed only the characters, and the realistic setting of the favela is done entirely in 3D. We searched for some of what is most striking in Brazilian streets, trying to capture the richness of favela’s details. There’s a ton of history behind the details in each graffiti, tag, and posters. It takes much more than 3D expertise: this project involved a lot of craft and dedication to fully bring together culture into just one image.

Working with Boys Do Cry and Netflix for this production was an incredible experience, and it is
wonderful to see the pieces featured in digital media involving a story that will move many people.
