NRP Sagres
This is a painting I created in the bar at the Naval Academy. This painting holds a special significance for everyone who passes through the Naval Academy because it depicts the NRP Sagres, the training ship that plays a fundamental role in the education of Navy cadets.
In creating this painting, I aimed to capture the essence of the NRP Sagres in a unique and symbolic way. The ship is more than just a means of transportation; it represents the journeys of cadets and future Navy officers. Therefore, I decided to portray it in a manner that symbolizes the strength and determination that each cadet brings to the Naval Academy.
You may notice that the Sagres is depicted breaking through a wall, as if tearing through the waves of the sea. This is a powerful metaphor for the journey of overcoming challenges and achieving our goals. Just as the Sagres faces the waves with courage, sailors confront challenges with determination.
