Assignment: collaboratively design a sustainable housing development in south Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Project: Our team proposed a living environment in which people interact freely within the sites and its context by living lightly on the land and integrating natural and flexible systems. With a 5-person team in 4 different disciplines (architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and environmental science), we explored implementing sustainable designs in each of our field, for example the architecture students focused on placing the homes in clusters, orienting them in a southern direction, and researching local materials for building.
