Osaka City Branding
Known as the "Nation's Kitchen" and a beacon of commercial activity, this thriving urban landscape offers a captivating blend of tradition and modernity.
This project aims to redefine Osaka's identity, to capture its essence and amplify its unique allure. The objective is to seek and create a captivating narrative that showcases Osaka's spirit of innovation, warmth, and liveliness
Rebrand Concept
Drawing inspiration from Japan's renowned minimalism, my goal was to craft a logo system that embodies simplicity and elegance for the diverse attractions of Osaka.
I chose a more modern yet impactful color scheme to stand out from the traditional Japanese color such as red or black. In order to capture the lively essence of Osaka, I made a deliberate choice to employ a round and chubby font, infusing the design with a playful and energetic atmosphere.
Taking inspiration from prominent landmarks like the Osaka Castle, I embarked on the creative process by sketching various ideas. Admittedly, minimalism presented a unique challenge for me, as it wasn't a style I was naturally accustomed to
Logo System
This is the logo system for the new rebrand which includes the 8 different things that make Osaka, Osaka.
Merchandise Design
Here are a range of merchandise featuring the carefully crafted logos, as well as a fresh pattern derived from these logos. Maintaining the minimalist and lively aesthetic, I have also designed whimsical illustration posters that add a touch of light-heartedness to the collection.
Digital Marketing
The Instagram posts and website I have developed would serve as the digital marketing platforms to promote and showcase the new rebranding initiative. Through these online channels, I aim to engage a wider audience, sharing captivating visuals and captivating content that highlights the essence of the reimagined Osaka.
