Watches are such an essential in our everyday lives that we wouldn't even think twice about the design past when the point of purchase. The objective of this project was to recreate a watch using vector graphics and to attempt to have our recreation look as realistic as possible. 

When sketching, I really wanted to focus on each individual part of the watch and watch face, opposed to just the watch as a whole. I spent time trying to sketch out some shading so that I could get some ideas on paper before constructing it in Illustrator. I also spent a few sketches trying to figure out the 'NIXON' text because I knew that would be a complicated feature to recreate. 

This was my first draft of the watch. There is obviously no shading on the watch face, but I was able to successfully get the knob to look like the original. The watch bands have some shading, but it still needs some work. 

After some feedback, I went in and added some texture to both the watch face as well as the watch band. I also added all of the shading on the outermost edge of the watch which really helped bring it all together. I also added black and white to the 'NIXON' to help add dimension. 

I feel that though the image I produced is not an exact replica, I still met the objective to recreate a watch using vector graphics and have our recreation look as realistic as possible.
