SINGAPORE FOOD CULTURE

I am in the business of preserving culture.
This project was a open brief, basically we were to find a issue in Singapore, and create a packaging, to allow and to entice tourists to buy a piece of Singapore back home.

I decided I wanted to sell Singapore's food culture.
The primary packaging, laser cut PFD boards
I find that In Singapore, the things that tourist are attracted to are how clean it is here, how good the food is, and how diverse it is. So with that in mind, I decided to sell the one thing in common in most of the different food stalls in Singapore, the traditional plastic bowl.

How do you sell tradition and culture through the plastic bowl? Buy adding meaning and history to this simple bowl.
Basic Information about Singapore's food culture
The Primary packaging , is first designed through Illustrator, then laser cut into PFD boards. I've actually choose laser cut instead a cardboard box because of the smoky and rustic effect, to make it look very old but new.

The secondary packaging was done to allow consumers to remove the bowl with ease, and also to minimise damage when sent overseas. The frame holds the bowl down into the box.
