TESSIAN
Human Layer Security

Human Layer Security is an online magazine and thought leadership hub made by Tessian and built to bring security, business, compliance, and risk leaders together into a single digital community to welcome the next age of cybersecurity.

Powered by contributions from industry leaders, our identity fuses long-form articles with beautiful illustrative artwork into an interactive and visually arresting website. Working with 10 illustrators from the The New York Times, New Yorker, and The Guardian, the team tied a patchwork of illustrative styles to an electrifying brand palette and bold typography. Moving away from stereotypical cybersecurity tropes (lines of code, locks, hooded hackers in neon dark rooms), the artwork is envisioned to be comedic, dramatic, intellectual, and always thought-provoking.

The Cube forms a cornerstone of the Human Layer Security identity, being the main navigational element as you enter the website. Hovering over each face presents an array of articles to read and share — pasted with rich illustrated artwork. In other brand activations, the cube becomes an ownable motif —authors are framed by the cube in profile, and social posts are identified with a bold pink cube. Alongside an interactive website, deliverables included email newsletters, social activations, and merchandise.
