Silk Route Project - The Story of Silk : Illustrating the Sericulture of Mandya
As part of the Silk Route Tourism program by Suyatri Trust, I worked in an illustration project highlighting sericulture in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Collaborating with Vysakh Seluraj, a researcher who provided important documentation and research on sericulture in the area, and Bindu Menon, who contributed textual narrative, our project aimed to promote sustainable and responsible tourism practices as an alternative to traditional tourism. Our focus was on showcasing the intricate process of silk production and its impact on the local economy, while also celebrating the cultural heritage of the region and supporting the local community. Our project aimed to provide an innovative and educational experience for a wider community through the illustrated narratives.
