"You should do it, you shouldn't do it," I saw my mother sinking deeper and deeper into the rules. As a child, my mother was my role model as an adult, as if I was supposed to be a woman like her, and I aspired to be a bride and a mother. But as I passed the age when I was supposed to have a family and be independent, but had not yet married and had children, I went from being a young girl who would refute my mother's views to one who was unwilling to make the effort to change her. After all, she had only learned one way to be happy, and I was lucky enough to be allowed to choose. My mother was like a dressing model who served as a benchmark for her daughter. If the clothes pole was the root that held my mother together, I hope she had the courage to be a piece of driftwood even after the pole burned down.

你應該、你應該，我卻看她也深陷於「你應該」。我小時候曾把精挑細選的披肩當作蓋頭，也扮演過家家酒的一員。30不立了幾年，越來越沒想改變母親的觀點，畢竟她只有學習過一種幸福的方式，我則是很幸運的被容許有選擇。如果衣桿是梏住母親的根，願在燒毀後，她還有勇氣當塊浮木。
