Forth piece from the series 'Monuments of the World'.
Arc de Triomphe is one of the most popular monuments in Paris, France. It commemorates those who laid their lives for France in French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Names of all the French victors and generals are inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces.
It is quite a challenge to make these old, complex architectures on a small canvas with limited workspace. Despite the challenge, I think it turned out okay.
This monument is meant to be a commemorative site. So, I assure you that no disrespect was intended by not adding intricate details or inscriptions to the arc. I wanted to keep the design simple and elegant, since simplicity speaks volumes.
