URBAN MASTERPLANNING PROJECT (Academic Group Assignment)
The Master planning is based in Block 3 Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan. The assignment focused on the study, documentation, survey, analysis of the area and propose interventions accordingly.
The precinct in question was Hawa Bandar, a richly iconic, and historic subdivision of the larger Clifton area facing the public beach. With the ever evolving fabric of the urban landscape in Karachi constantly being in flux with different developers - reclamation of land for the public was our priority.
Our proposed intervention emphasized our commitment towards the upgradation and seamless interconnection of public spaces in the given precinct. Our master plan was to be developed in four phases. Generating economic opportunities, upgrading the existing infrastructure, providing public activities on the beach, and a complete renovation of South Asia's second largest public park (Bagh-Ibn-e-Qasim) took center stage in our proposal.
