The name, “MAKERS EN-CLAVE”, is a phrase visually comprising the words “MAKERS” and “EN-CALVE”. Acoustically, the name also consists of the word “enclave”.
MAKERS means we build this creative space for our target audiences, like creative students, fashion designers, and anyone interested in design. It is an inclusive word as anyone can be a Maker to realize their own thoughts and ideas at this facility. They can share their inspirations and ideas with different people within the same space. Further, “EN-CLAVE” consists of “EN” and “CLAVE”. “EN” means “enable” because the mission of this institution is to enable creative minds to realize their creative ideas into tangible products through training and education. In Spanish, “CLAVE” means “key”; it is our client’s sincere hope that this institution can serve as a key for the customers to help them open the door to the world of art and craft.
Moreover, Oxford Dictionary explained the word “enclave” as a portion of the space within or surrounded by a larger territory whose inhabitants are culturally or ethnically distinct. While the shop, MAKERS EN-CLAVE, is a sub-brand of Wear Milo’s, it serves a distinctive function and business scope compared to the toddler clothing brand. Compared to shoppers of Wear Milo’s, the customers of the shop also come to the institution for a distinguishing purpose, to learn and improve their crafting skills and understanding of art. The word “enclave” superbly captured the unique nature of the relationship between the shop and Wear Milo’s.
