In this design I used a 1953 photograph of Kew Garden's pagoda by Meager, surrounded by my floral design in the style of the artist Aitch. As the pagoda is a part of Chinese culture, I thought that this pattern referenced the similar decorative designs in Chinese ceramics, using a balance between shape and negative space. As the design draws your eyes upwards, I believe the emphasis on the sun touches on the spiritual connotations of pagodas, as they held scriptures and was a place of contemplation.​
