Apiary Brand Identity

I was commissioned to created branding and packaging for a beeswax lip balm company. They wanted a honeycomb incorporated and but had no set colours, logo, or fonts.
They had four primary flavours they wanted to launch, and wanted vibrant colours, so I needed to have a logo that worked on all colours. I settled on a dynamic, monochromatic logo that could be modified for each colour and used interchangeably on their website and social media.
The word "apiary" has a flighty and playful sense to it, so I chose a font script font that was thick and somewhat whimsical.
Above are the wordmark versions of the logo that could sit on a solid field of colour (as they are now) or on a white or black background.
Below are the lozenge version of the logo. On the left are the versions designed for use on the lip balm on the right are the version designed for use over photographs or as headers on company documents, social media banners etc.
Above are the final designs for the lip balm packaging. They wanted a red maple leaf on every package to stand out as a Canadian product. Final ingredients for each flavour were not provided so they are repeated on each.
Unfortunately the product launch was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has never launched.
