Panasonic LUMIX FT range

From LUMIX FT1 to FT3
I was involved in Panasonic since many years ago and i have witnessed the evolution of the FT series, from the day when it was FT1 to FT2 and eventually to FT3.

Back then when it was LUMIX FT1, Panasonic was not the 1st to launch a waterproof camera but they were the 1st to launch the world's only waterproof camera with AVCHD Lite recording which allows you to record almost 2X the recording time in HD. This was some sort of compression which compresses your videos, allowing you to record more, saving more storage capacity from your camera and what's best, it doesn't affect the quality of your video in HD format. Not only it's a waterproof camera, it's also shockproof and dustproof to handle all the rigors of outdoor photography. An extremely versatile digital camera that you can take with whenever the action calls.
A year after the launch of the LUMIX FT1, they launched the next generation, the LUMIX FT2.
Concept still revolves around the AVCHD Lite, record more, infinitely.

Being a tough camera, you can bring it to the depths with 10m waterproof, and conquer the outdoors with 2m shockproof, dustproof and -10˚c freezeproof. So what's the difference between FT1 and FT2 despite the slight enhanced specifications? LUMIX FT2 comes with the latest Intelligent Resolution Technology (IRT) which allows 30% more zoom on top of the usual zoom capability of the camera and you can capture unprecedented pictures and video quality, above or under water.

And what's next? They launched the 3rd generation, LUMIX FT3.

Moving to extreme adventures, now comes with additional inbuilt GPS, compass, altimeter and barometer on top of the usual specifications, letting you know exactly where you are and geotags your images instantly with the new LUMIX FT3.

Launched at May 2011.
