Brilliant F***ing Brilliant follows four young women as they embark on a disastrous camping trip. Best friends or girlfriends, all dynamics will be put to the test.
Sam is an anxious wreck and her coping mechanism is to pack a tent and head to Wales. Rosa hops on board because PMS is hitting hard and when counting sheep to go to sleep doesn’t work anymore, the solution is to count them in real life fields. Ruby and Lily just started seeing each other, and there's no better place to relocate those budding butterflies than straight into a cheap four man tent from Argos.
They’re all here with different intentions but all face the same challenge: how on Earth do you put up a tent? Emotions are high, the rain lashes down and no one is packed appropriately. Watch as things escalate into absurdity as they navigate the breakdown of one relationship and the beginnings of another.
This play is brought to you by Talkers & Doers, a Bristol-based theatre company that celebrates everyday nonsense through new writing. Co-founded by best friends, turned collaborators duo Rosalie Roger-Lacan and Amber Conroy, Talkers & Doers was born out of our endless conversations and shared hilarities about navigating the world as twenty something year olds. It is from this talking that the doing is born, and how Brilliant F***ing Brilliant was created.
It’s a comedy written and acted by women, which isn’t just about being a woman. It’s about playfulness and poking fun with a solid dash of chaos, rage, and love - elements which we feel are intrinsic to us as collaborators and to the work we create.
No matter the project, we continually strive to find the light within the dark - if you don't laugh, you'll probably end up crying. If there was ever a time that felt like audiences needed a bit of fun, it's now.
