goal:
Triton_No.dirt is about the traditional craft of shipbuilding on Spetses. The installation created a place of remembrance. It shall remind us to appreciate what is given to us. These boats have been left alone for far to long, so a restoration is to much of an effort. By upcycling we gave them a new life and the chance that people become aware about the current obstacles Greek traditional shipbuilders have to overcome.

The concepts content is about the value of tradition, community and our resources. Referring to the gods name, this project highlights the craftsmanship of shipbuilding on this island. As these boats, many things like furniture might have lost their meaning for many people. In their eyes it is just trash, dirt, waste, something useless. But it is not! They are “no dirt”. Telling a story and communicating values, with upcycling and some dedication they can receive a new purpose and reveal new perspectives.
