AAC (Aluminum Armoured Cable) is a type of electrical cable designed to withstand lightning strikes. It is made up of two layers of aluminium separated by a polyethylene insulating layer. The outside layer of aluminum protects against lightning strikes, while the interior layer of aluminium prevents short circuits induced by wire contact.
The use of Aluminum Armoured Cable is intended to avoid direct contact between the metal core and the ground.
