The Institute was designed as a large longitudinal volume, low in height, and spanning the entire corner of the site. Upon entering through the partially covered area, the view is compressed beneath the box and then expands towards the interior of the building, creating a continuous space with the courtyard. The volume functions as a large glazed block with corten steel sunshades, providing ample natural light throughout the day.
It includes temporary and permanent galleries, a multipurpose theater, a restaurant, classrooms, workshops, and administrative offices. The design encompasses the diverse objectives of a public building, aiming to be a functional, dynamic, and contemplative space for experiencing art.
